Marc Simon was born in August 1960 and showed his first paintings at his London studio in 1979. Since then, he has exhibited every year at home and abroad.

In the early eighties, he learned the art of making and using organic and mineral–based paints from mediaeval recipes from Brain Dunes, the English surrealist.

A period of intensive studies on the Canary Islands later heightened his sense of colour still more.

In 1981 he and other London artists founded „Junkchild“, organising a series of art projects which gave homeless kids and prostitutes a creative perspective lacking in their life on the streets.

In recent years he has been in close contact with artists from all over the world, and is actively involved in a number of projects.

The Guardian wrote:

"What makes Marc Simon's pictures so fascinating is their effervescent, positive vitality. The themes of his paintings are naturalistic, earthbound... Thanks to his magical colours, they reflect a unique surreal eroticism and a harmony in which it's possible to contact the universal aspects of the soul":
